Artist Statement

I use a diverse media like water colours, oils, acrylics, charcoal, pen and most importantly mix media. My technique in painting is thick impasto in Abstract Expressionist style .

My works are figurative, non figurative or mere transforming landscapes. I choose a colour pallette , suggestive of drama and mysticism.  The language of  queerness persits due to assortment of beliefs ,ideologies ,rituals prevalent amongst a complex knit of religions, communities, genders . Most of my works are direct or indirect portraits of human conditions & lifestyle.  I believe a work is incomplete unless it has the potential to converse with the beholder. It should be simple , unobvious and stimulating , providing the audience a field to guess ,presume and settle with their respective conclusions and hence  indulge  into it.

There is a drama in each moment we live yet we are ignorant of it due to lack of time and concentration. Each dialogue transmitted or action taking place is a visual performance recorded in our subconciousness. Each one of us play a participant with our own chosen interests. The Artists play an important role in a given era by gradually illustrating these anthropological visual manuscripts  comprising  majorly of human Psyche relative of this period.     Nidhi Agarwal 2016
